Vienna Productions is an award winning independent film and television company established by producer/director, Rob Stone. Launched in the early nineties, the company’s first project was The Sidewalk Motel, a 35mm film about the homeless, starring Christopher Hewett and featuring Bruce Springsteen’s rendition of Woody Guthrie’s “I Ain’t Got No Home”. Shown theatrically in the United States, the film was awarded the Gold Award at Houston’s International Film Festival.

The company also produced Blue Angels: Around the World at the Speed of Sound, a two hour special on the legendary U.S. Navy flight squadron and their historic European tour, featuring the first ever visit of an American military flight demonstration team to Moscow. Hosted by Dennis Quaid, the special aired on the Arts and Entertainment Network and was honored with a Cable Ace Award from the National Academy of Cable Programming.

Vienna Productions also produced Thunderbirds: Thunder Over the Pacific, hosted by Candice Bergen and Into the Wild Blue, hosted by Tom Skerritt. These two hour award-winning specials aired as Special Presentations on The History Channel and led to the development of Legends of the Sky, an interactive digital experience.

Other Vienna Productions projects include multiple episodes of History Channel’s award-winning series Modern Marvels and Mail Call, and In the Zone: The Greats of Tennis, and The 30th Anniversary of Title IX, featuring tennis legend Billie Jean King. The company also produced the feature documentary One Vision, a comprehensive look inside the filmmaking process that includes interviews with Martin Scorcese, Oliver Stone, Quentin Tarantino, Robert Zemeckis, Sidney Pollack, Rob Reiner, Penny Marshall, and Ron Howard.

Recently, Vienna Productions completed the historical documentary Sir William Osler: Science and the Art of Medicina, narrated by Oscar winning actor, Richard Dreyfuss.

The company has expanded their production reach online, producing high profile podcasts and online series.
